We at Build The Nursery
DEEPLY and SINCERELY REGRET
to inform you of the
untimely passing of
Miss Pamela Jean Brewer,
Executive Assistant to the Director.
She was absolutely vital
to our organization:
WITHOUT HER LABOR OF LOVE,
VOLUNTEERING MANY HOURS OF
HER TIME AND EFFORT
WHILE HEALING FROM SURGERY,
WE HAVE BEEN FORCED
TO DELAY
PHASE 2 OF OUR PROJECT.
Without her spark, spirituality, her love
of life and mission,
and her thoughtful, thorough
organizational skills,
it has been a "hard row to hoe,"
as the saying goes.
I truly mourn the loss of this lady.
She was my right arm
and a
beautiful, caring woman.
Although she never
got to meet the students at
The Spot Fun Garden,
she loved
the pictures, videos, cards, and stories.
She waited patiently
to meet our hearty team
and
see the bounty they farmed from seed.
When she recovered from surgery,
we attended classes at
The Organic Grower's School,
right outside of Asheville, NC.
We also went to a downtown
celebration, with music, art, food,
people, and lots to look at. I can tell
you that she thoroughly enjoyed
herself, then and until the day she
passed.
Once she could get around again,
she sure didn't let any grass grow
under her feet!
I often think of her:
sometimes at night when all is quiet,
or when my focus tries to drift
from the mission.
I can feel her presence,
her love and encouragement.
Always the hippie-girl,
forever a flower-child;
now she is with Jesus
and has truly found
HER PEACE.

Build The Nursery
never stopped hammering:
We were just out of hearing distance!
We apologize to those who have
backed us faithfully, especially
The Spot,
P.L. Woodard & Co.,
BB&T & The United Way,
and all the
wonderful Wilsonians who have
cheered us on with our project.
Our deepest regrets for the long delay
between posts:
REST ASSURED, THE HAMMERING IS
GETTING LOUDER AND THE PLOUGH IS
PICKING UP SPEED...
WILL YOU WILL BE READY
WHEN IT'S YOUR TURN
TO HELP
OUR KIDS
IN THE GARDEN?

PLEASE ENDORSE THE NEW
2015 FARM-TO-SCHOOL ACT!!
"A bipartisan team in the House and Senate has introduced theFarm to School Act of 2015, a bill that will expand the highly successful USDA Farm to School Grant Program. The bill is a win-win-win for farmers, students, and communities – it increases children’s access to fresh foods, supports family farmers, and helps to build strong local food economies. "
